Thank you for visiting our website. PandeVITA works on providing a platform and smartphone app for a more efficient knowledge transfer between society and science in pandemic crises on a global level.

PandeVITA is being implemented by a multidisciplinary consortium coordinated by Bilkent University (Turkey). iserundschmidt GmbH (Germany) is responsible for the hosting and management of the website of PandeVITA. In this context, your privacy is important for us and we are committed to protect it in accordance with the European Regulation 2016/679 on the protection of individuals with regards to the processing of their personal data and on the free movement of such data (General Data Protection Regulation, hereafter referred to as the "Regulation") as in force. To this end, we provide this Privacy Policy that applies to the PandeVITA website (the “Website”) and governs personal data collection and usage by the Website only.

We reserve the right to update or change our Privacy Policy at any time. With that in mind, you should periodically check this Privacy Policy.

Personal data that we process

The amount and type of data we process depends on your activities and use of the Website. Certain data is collected simply from your use of the Website, where as other data is submitted by you voluntarily in your communications with us or to receive requested services. Below, we explain the data we process for our various services.

Legitimate reasons for processing your personal data

Legitimate reasons for lawful processing your personal data is the legitime interest of the PandeVITA consortium to promote the PandeVITA project outcomes as more specifically described in the Introduction, to meet contractual obligations in that context.

Storage and deletion of personal data

Use of script libraries (Google Web Fonts)

In order to present our content correctly and graphically appealing across browsers, we use script libraries and font libraries such as Google Web Fonts. Google Web Fonts are transferred to your browser's cache to avoid multiple loading. If the browser does not support Google Web Fonts or prevents access, the content is displayed in a standard font. Calling up script libraries or font libraries automatically triggers a connection to the library operator. It is theoretically possible - but currently also unclear whether and, if so, for what purposes - that operators of such libraries collect data. For our newsletter dispatch we use the program Acymailing. If you want to receive the newsletter, we need your e-mail address. A verification of the given e-mail address is necessary and you have to agree to receive the newsletter. The data will be used exclusively for sending the newsletter. The data entered will be stored in our content management system.

The data provided in the newsletter registration will be processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 § 1 lit. a) GDPR (DSGVO)). A revocation of your already given consent is possible at any time. For the revocation, please unsubscribe via the website or use the "unsubscribe"-link in the newsletter. The legality of the data processing procedures already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.
Data entered to set up the subscription will be deleted when you unsubscribe. If these data have been transmitted to us for other purposes and elsewhere, they will remain with us.

With the help of newsletter software Acymailing we can analyse our newsletter campaigns. When you open the email sent with Acymailing, a file contained in the email, a so-called web beacon, connects to the server of Acymailing. We can thus determine whether a newsletter message has been opened and which links have been clicked on. In addition, information such as the time of retrieval, IP address, browser type and operating system is recorded. This information cannot be assigned to the respective newsletter recipient, since the IP address is partially anonymized. The data is used exclusively for statistical analysis of newsletter campaigns. This enables us to better adapt our future newsletters to the interests of the recipients. If you do not want to receive analysis by Acymailing, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. For this purpose, we provide an unsubscribe link in every newsletter message. The data processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 § 1 lit. a) GDPR (DSGVO)).
